This course is now offered as a more personalised, flexible programme. Instead of fixed weekly dates, you’ll be taught during my member studio sessions, with 10 x 2-hour sessions arranged at times we agree together. You can start when you’re ready and progress at a pace that works for you.
What you’ll learn
Across your 10 sessions, you’ll learn the essential foundations of handbuilding, including:
- Pinch pots, slab building and coiling (all three traditional techniques)
- Surface decoration and texture
- Underglazes, oxides and glazing
- How to develop your own creative ideas in clay (so your work feels like yours)
What you’ll make (and take home)
You’ll create at least four finished ceramic pieces, typically:
- One piece for each core technique (pinch / slab / coil)
- Plus at least one piece developed from your own ideas, with my guidance
How the flexible format works
- 10 x 2-hour sessions (20 hours total)
- Sessions take place during my member studio sessions (10am-12pm Sun – Wed)
- Dates and times are agreed between you and me after booking
- Small group studio environment (max 8 in the studio) for plenty of individual support
- Please use your 10 sessions within 6 months of purchase

At £225 (just over £11 per hour), everything you need is included:
- Clay and materials
- Use of professional studio tools and equipment
- Glazes and decorative finishes
- All firings
Just bring clothes you don’t mind getting a little messy.
