Kintsugi workshop

A two hour kintsugi workshop to repair your broken ceramics in the style of the traditional Japanese kintusgi.

Kintsugi is a technique to repair broken ceramics using traditional materials and powdered gold, silver or platinum to highlight the repair.  The philosophy honours the repair as part of the history of the piece, building on its story, rather than working to disguise an imperfection.

The workshop will be held at 1 – 3pm at the studio on Sunday 13th October. (SOLD OUT 9th June)

For this workshop we will work with modern materials, epoxy glue and gold mica powder, to repair a broken piece of ceramic.  Bring your own piece with you or let me know in advance and I can provide a simple bowl that can be broken and repaired for an additional £10.

“I really love this philosophy and this technique is a very simple, rough method of creating a feel of the kintsugi style,” says Paula.
