Workshops and Courses
Step into my light-filled Cambridgeshire studio and you’ll find big work tables ready for making, shelves lined with colourful glazes, and a warm welcome waiting for you. There’s a gentle hum of creativity here – sometimes quiet and focussed, sometimes full of chatter and laughter – but always a space where you can relax, try something new, and enjoy the magic of clay.
It doesn’t matter if you’re a complete beginner or an experienced maker – my workshops are about more than just learning techniques. They’re about the joy of creating something with your own hands, in your own way. You can bring an idea with you or decide on the day. I’ll guide you where you need it, but the making is all yours.
You might start with my Beginners Hand-Building Course – ten mornings (or four full days) learning the essentials at a gentle pace. Or perhaps you’re drawn to a Masterclass, where we dive deep into a single technique, from coiling to surface texture, sometimes joined by guest ceramic artists. You could try the drama of Raku Firing, the meditative beauty of Kintsugi, the playful exploration of Glaze Play, or gather friends and family for a private creative experience.
Seasonal workshops bring nature and the year’s rhythms into the studio – think ceramic wreaths, spring blooms, and autumnal leaves. And every month, a family-friendly Sunday session welcomes little hands and big imaginations.
And if you’re looking for something truly immersive, I also co-host creative retreats – a few precious days to slow down, sink deeply into making, and explore new ideas without the rush of everyday life. Surrounded by inspiring landscapes and like-minded makers, you’ll have the space to experiment, connect, and let your creativity flow.
Everything’s provided – tools, clay, glazes, firing – you just need to wear something you don’t mind getting a bit messy. You’ll leave with something you’ve made yourself, a head full of ideas, and (I hope) a lighter heart than when you arrived.
And if you find yourself hooked – if the studio feels like somewhere you want to keep coming back to – there are plenty of ways to keep that creative spark alive. My studio memberships offer regular making time in a supportive environment, while my mentoring programme gives you personal guidance to grow your skills, style, and confidence. However you choose to continue, the clay – and I – will be here waiting.
